Yes on creating the sketch:
I tried to match the the yes you did in terms of making the piece long/stretched out a bit,
and also using the oversized 3d - but in the opposite direction of that of the yes outline ,
so that when painted together the 3-D's will give the pieces the effect of flying away from
'The Exchange' inbetween the two. I intended to add more whips n' dips coming off the letters
to match with the insanity of the outline you did, but I'm satisfied with the piece as is- it has a
nice bounce to it and a strong base of solid letter form which will rock when you paint it adding
your own flavor and finishing touches.
yes indeed...
Rime on viewing the sketch:
Great job on the sketch! The piece is composed in such a way that each letter is
fresh individually. The extra long 3-d's set the piece in motion. There is a nice
classic feel that the piece has. I am tempted to use stock cap Krylon to outline
this joint on the upcoming wall. I am really looking forward to painting it!
Rime on executing the sketch:
For me, the biggest challenge was working the outline up on the wall and getting the
connections and measurements as precise as possible. I threw up the sketch first
with a color close to the buff and resketched later with a darker color. I prefer to sketch
with a Krylon and a stock cap. The lines come out thin and fast which allows me to get a
full body motion out of each applied line. It was cool to work on this Exchange wall with Yes.
Whenever I had a question or was unsure of how to execute an area, he was right there to offer feedback.
Originally I began to outline this piece with Krylon Ultra Flat Black with a stock tip. The black
was reacting funny on the wall and was cracking. I ended up switching the outline color to
Krylon True Blue thanks to CES being nice enough to give me a few cans. True blue
ended up being a better choice as an outline because it made a nice transition from
the Harbor Blue fillin. The Rusto Army Green in the 3d's did not work well with the True Blue.
The Army Green looks muted and dull against the blue... I lacked another color in the
green family successfully punch up the 3-d's. Overall I am happy with how the wall turned out.
We knocked it out in one day, about 10 hours! As an adult I find it more difficult to find the time
to return to walls .. So I do my best to be done the same day with anything I set out to do.

Aside from the oversized 3-d and the white 'shines' -that shit looks like i did it - The colors
work with the style- Harbor Blue Rusto works 99% of the time- all the time. When we painted
the pieces I tried to avoid commenting on what you were doing as to not interfere with the
natural way YOU would paint MY sketch. I'm feeling it though you rocked it correct. I feel like
I crapped out on painting 'The Exchange' logo- but yo that was the last thing i did that day and
I could barely move my fuckin hand after painting pretty much non-stop from 10am untill 830pm..
