Esteme on creating the sketches:
Whats up ya'll..
On the first sketch, the "Y" is kind of awkward but I like how it moves with the top bar of the "T".
i was trying to keep space between letters to a minimum. It's mad geometric with all the bars
flying out at different angles. It's a really compact lego puzzle, space ship style.... The second
sketch has more of a classic strong "four " style "y" but I think I was trying too hard with some
of the connections. I like how the 'S' flops over the 'E'...on the first one, i was trying to keep the
letters simpler and let the overall form of the piece be the complex part. The last one isn't
that hot but I like the EST....
I think Yes 2 was one of the harder ones for me... I fucked around with some of the other
names when you said I was in, but kinda pushed off his name...shit is hard cause so
often I wind up figuring my outline out after I've filled in my piece. i don't do well with
sketches.. I always have mad random pieces of paper with ideas but don't really
stick to anything...
It's fun though..It has me thinking about graf a lot...probably too much ! So yeah, feel free
to mix match and beef up. Tell me what you think...
Yes 2 on viewing the sketches:
I'm feeling all 3 joints Esteme- I think they'd all come off painted. I'm planning
to paint the 1st one- I think It'd rock as a silver on a bare cement wall, and the
3rd one in color. Ive never done a yes piece where I spelled out the 'T W O'
Yes 2 on executing sketch 2
1 to go
I like the piece- the 'W' looks wierd i think I fucked up the flow.
painted this in about an hour.
